Volunteer at Thanksgiving Day 5K!
November 26-28, 2024
From early packet pickup, to race day registration, course marshals, and handing out refreshments and medals – anyone can help out for this fun, Thanksgiving morning event by Frederick County Parks & Rec, to benefit WATTS! Run, Gobble, Nap.
Location is Sherando High School.
Stephens City UMC WATTS week
November 23 - 30, 2024
Stephens City United Methodist Church hosts WATTS during Thanksgiving week and they’re looking for some extra help! Check out their volunteer sign-up to see where you can jump in. Make new friends!
Help at McKee Foundation's Tacky Sweater Party

Celebrate and have a great time while helping The Ken & Nancy McKee Foundation raise funds for WATTS and other great community causes! (21+)
Medical Volunteers (evenings)
November 2, 2024 - March 28, 2025
Provide basic First Aid to our guests at the Overnight Shelter when they come in for the evening. Taking blood pressures, temps, giving out OTC meds, and bandages, etc. Mostly, be a compassionate presence and listening ear.

Opequon Presbyterian WATTS week
December 30, 2024 & January 1, 2025
Opequon Presbyterian is looking for someone(s) to donate the dinners on these dates. Email Lead Volunteer, Heather, if you are interested. Please provide enough food for 50 servings.

Ways our Volunteers Serve...
Meals
Donating dinners and breakfasts for the Overnight Shelter. Contact us to be connected with a host if you'd like to do a meal.
We also need donations of lunches for our daytime Centers in the winter and summer.
Medical
Volunteer health professionals come in to provide basic First Aid to our guests at the Overnight Shelter. They are a compassionate presence and listening ear, attending to minor health concerns and referring out for any major issues.
Day Shelter Volunteers
Assisting our managers with things such as making coffee, setting out food, snacks, or drinks, fellowship/talking with guests, monitoring showers, sorting, organizing, cleaning, etc.
Fundraiser Volunteers
Help WATTS at our fundraisers throughout the year! From chicken BBQs, to a golf tournament, annual gala, CNOY Walk, and more, there's something for everyone!
Holidays
On Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, our guests stay at the host location all day. Visitation time slots are typically available where you can fellowship with guests, watch movies, play games, do puzzles, etc.
